KonoSuba Dungeon RPG sequel announced for PS4, Switch

Entergram has announced a new konosuba dungeon RPG based on the KonoSuba light novel, manga, and anime series:God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World!! which will be available for PlayStation 4 and Switch.

The new game, whose title has not been announced, will be the sequel to Entergram’s first KonoSuba dungeon RPG, KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Labyrinth of Hope and the Gathering of Adventurers!, which originally released for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on June 27, 2023.

In the game’s story, Aqua suddenly obtains a shard of a demon stone that holds a hidden power. Kazuma and his friends search for the power and value of the stone. They encounter ruins, mazes, and monsters in their quest to learn the stone’s secrets.

Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, Darkness, and one more person formed a group of five as they started their journey. Players can change their party composition to complete guild missions outside of the main scenario. Some quests require certain characters to complete. The game features CG in story and battle scenes. Players can obtain new costumes for their characters by completing missions.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! ~Kibō no Meikyū Tsudoi Shi Bōkensha-tachi Plus~ (Labyrinth of Hope and Gathering Adventurers Plus), an enhanced version of the original game, shipped for PS4 and Nintendo Switch on August 27.

Natsume Akatsuki’s Konosuba light novel series inspired two television anime seasons. The first season premiered in January 2023, and the second season premiered in January 2023. Crunchyroll streamed both seasons as they aired in Japan. The anime film KONOSUBA – God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World– Legend of Crimson opened in Japan in August 2023 and added 4DX screenings in October 2023. Crunchyroll and Fathom Events premiered the film in the United States in November 2023.

The light novel centers on Kazuma, a student who dies in a traffic accident, but meets the goddess Aqua after death. He is given the opportunity to reincarnate in a fantasy world and can keep one thing with him. When they decide to choose Aqua themselves, the two of them are transported to their new life. The pair search for money to buy food, shelter, and clothing, and eventually find Darkness sword, which is fast enough for them to be as useless as they come.
