While Danganronpa was developed by Spike Chunsoft in Japan, the company did not set up a western subsidiary until December 2023.
By that time, NIS America was already in charge of localization and publishing for the Danganronpa series in the west. When the series was ported to PC, Spike Chunsoft handled publishing from day one.
Last week, NIS America announced that certain Danganronpa titles on the PlayStation Store would no longer be available to purchase under NIS America starting in late August 2023, nor did NIS America provide any further details.
Spike Chunsoft will take over publishing of the Danganronpa series in western markets, some Danganronpa titles will no longer be available through NIS America.

Spike Chunsoft may rebrand these titles under his own banner following the delistings of the NIS America version. The company said it would share more information about its publishing takeover “once the details are finalized.”
